Thursday's morning page.

チャンスを受けいれる状態というのは、チャンスが現れたときの準備ができていることを云う。そして、それらは予期していないときに、新しいアイデアだとか、気づきのかたちで現れることが多い。その映像が出てくるのは、ベッドで横になっているとき、 運転しているとき、運動しているときなどだったりするわけだ。

ポケットサイズの日記帳のほかに、私は索引カードと鉛筆を用意している。新しいアイデアが現れたとき、即座に捕らえておくためにとても便利だ。デスクに、家のどころどころの引き出しに、ブリーフケースの中に、とカードにすぐ手がとどくようにしている。あと、運転中に便利なデジタル録音機もつねにもっている。優れたアイデアや洞察は、時として、どこからともなくやってくるんだ。でももちろん、それが偶然によるものじゃないことは明らかだ。

あなたは、新しいアイデアを捕らえる準備はできていますか？　信じられないようなチャンスを生んで、あなたの人生をガラリと変えてしまうようなアイデアを。カードも鉛筆も安いものだ。新しいチャンスには、値段のつけようがない。

Staying receptive to opportunities means being ready when they show up. And they often show up when least expected, often in the form of new ideas and enlightenment. They can arrive while you're lying in bed, driving, exercising - you get the picture.

Besides my pocket journal, I keep index cards and a pencil handy to capture new ideas when they show up. I keep cards on my desk, in a few drawers around the house, and in my briefcase. I also keep a small digital recorder handy when I'm driving. Some of the best ideas and insights have seemingly come out of nowhere - but, of course, I know it's more than coincidence.

Are you ready for that new idea? The idea that may lead you to an incredible opportunity, and transform your life. Cards and pencils are cheap, that new opportunity - priceless.
