私たちはみんな、スタート地点がちがう。生まれた時点において、配られている手がちがうということ。それぞれのスタートラインは同じじゃなくて、それぞれにズレがある。私たち一人ひとりに、ちがった有利条件や制約があるわけだ。

でも、卓越や熟達にたっする人々と平均やそれ以下におちつく人々のちがいをつくるのは環境や状況じゃない。選択が、ちがいを生むんだ。制約にまけず前進することを選択して、力を注ぎこむことを選択して、持って生まれた才能と能力を高めるんだ。

２０１０年は選択の年。外部の事情に流されるのを選択することもできるけれど、それは挫折と絶望への道。それとも、行動をおこす、チャンスを創る、そして求める変化を生活のなかにつくることを選択するか。それはあなたが決めることだ。

追い越し車線のなかを、動きつづけよう！

None of us have the same starting point; none are dealt the same hand at birth. The starting line is not the same for everyone, it’s staggered – we all start with different advantages and different constraints.

But circumstances do not create the difference between those who achieve excellence and mastery, and those who settle for mediocrity, or less. Choice creates the difference; you choose to move ahead despite your constraints, you choose to leverage, and enhance, your natural talents and gifts.

2010 is a year of choice. You can choose to be driven by external circumstances – the path to frustration and despair - or you can choose to take action, create opportunities, and make a positive difference in your life. It’s up to you.
