先ごろの土曜日、ジム・ローンがながい闘病生活のすえ息をひきとった。彼は何十万人、いやおそらくもっと多くの人々にとって恩師といえる人物だ。私の人生に多大な影響を与えたのは確実だし、それさえも彼への充分な評価とはいえない。
卓越をめざして私が日記をつけるようになったのも、より読書をするようになったのも、日々の規律をまもるようになったのも、彼がきっかけだ。私はジムを惜しむだろう。でも、彼の遺産がこれからも生きつづけることを知っている。彼の公演記録、書籍、彼に影響された人々、そのすべては他の人々の向上のきっかけに、向上できることを知るきっかけになるだろう。

Jim Rohn died this past Saturday after a long illness. He was a mentor to hundreds of thousands, probably more. He was certainly a positive influence in my life - and that's an understatement.
Jim was the one who inspired me to keep a journal, to read more books, to maintain my daily disciplines, to strive for excellence. I will miss Jim, but I know his legacy lives on. His audio presentations, his books, the people he influenced, will continue to inspire others to become more, to realize all they can be.
