私の両親は、私が医者になることを願っていた。歳月のたった今でも、母は会話のなかでこの一言をいう。「．．．医者になるべきだったボブ」。

大学の始め、私は両親の期待にそった道、医療学校へ進むことを考えていた。でも、私にとって情熱を持てるのはちがう場所であることに気づいた。私は、その道に進むことを選んで、振り返ったことはない。後悔もない。

他の誰かの夢にそっていたら、自分の夢を見失う。自分の情熱に従って、自分の欲求を満たすために時間と体力を使っていこう。そして、振り向くな。

My parents wanted me to become a physician; and years later, my mom will sometimes mention in conversation the phrase "... Bob, who should have been a doctor."

I started college thinking med school - in track with what my parents expected. But I found my passions in other places. I chose another path and never looked back - no regrets.

If you follow another person's dream, you miss your own. Get aligned with your passions, and put your time and energy into fulfilling your own desires. And don't look back.
